My illustration depicts Gabbinbar Homestead, the surrounding gardens and entrance fountain. The illustration captures the building from a distance, allowing me to capture both the building and the surrounding setting which is such an important part of the venues charm. I loved capturing the greenery such as the clipped hedges and rose bushes as well as the background eucalyptus trees.

Creating the illustration

The Gabbinbar Homestead illustration was handcrafted using traditional pen techniques on paper, starting with a pencil sketch and then detailed pen work to emphasize depth and form in both the building and its surroundings. Various line techniques were employed to highlight key features, incorporating the driveway, fountain, gardens, and distant trees to capture the setting.
